Went out to Mansfield today and discovered a lovely nature trail! I spent a few hours walking the trails. Weather was perfect and it was nice and quiet out. Also it's bluebonnet season in Texas again! There were lots of clearings alomg the trail just covered in bluebonnets. Absolutely beautiful :) Things like this will always have a part of me in love with my home. Despite it all...

West Texas, on the Mexico border. Super out thereβ rented a wrangler in El Paso and made a road trip out of it through marfa. Love the miles of rolling grass too. Look close and breathe it in. Once you look close you can see each little part of the whole picture. There's something beautiful about the strong roots of the grass, the animals that hide in it, and the way it looks while the wind blows through. It's hypnotizing.

I always liked hiking but never truly 'got' it. Then I went to the Southwest and zen'd out on some desert-y trails (Seven Falls in Tucson for those keeping track at home). Here, during January, you can experience every season in the span of an hour while observing roadrunners in their natural habitat. It's eerily silent and, when it's all said and done, you're hungry enough to eat 10 plates of enchiladas.
