1) mustard only
2) chili, NO CHEESE, and maybe a few diced onions
also whenever i go somewhere, i like to see what variation of hot dog they have. the chicago style felt a bit too much (i like the pickle in it), and the seattle one was egregious (from someone who doesn’t like cream cheese). Then Pink’s Hot Dogs in LA was a treat; i had the Brando it was pretty good
Chicago-Style Hot Dogs are the best. They combine all the flavors I look for in a meal. A Vienna Beef hot dog, poppy seed bun, topped with yellow mustard, neon-green sweet pickle relish, chopped white onion, tomato slices, a dill pickle spear, pickled sport peppers, and celery salt. What more can you ask for? The Vienna Beef hotdog is superior to all other hot dogs.
In summer, it seems like the default is to fire up the grill for some burgers, but I’m full in on hot dogs. give me 2 dogs and an ice cold bud in a koozie. I also have a local hot dog truck, Grumpy’s Dogs, that has all the food truck style dogs, whether its a mustard sauerkraut or a pulled pork one, and I love to treat myself to the chili cheese dog.
