THIS SOME REAL DEAL NO BULL SHIT WAR METAL FOR EVIL TWISTED #DARKWOKE FOLKS. EVERY SONG SOUNDS LIKE GETTING HIT IN THE HEAD WITH A SLEDGEHAMMER REPEATEDLY WHILE HOT CHICKS IN LATEX RIDE AROUND ON BIG ASS HARLEY CHOPPERS. 10/10 ALBUM
This album turned 30 this year and is still ahead of our time imo. It rips so hard and takes its time with every track. I couldn’t name a favorite, but ‘Luau’ is almost 10 minutes long, and by the end of it I wish it were longer. It’s a very cathartic experience all the way through, if you need something to delve into your rage with this week.
This album is everything—raw, urgent, and packed with some of the sharpest post-hardcore ever recorded. From the punchy opener "Turnover" to the anthemic "Merchandise", every track is pure energy. The dual vocals, tight basslines, and relentless drumming make it impossible to sit still.
Plus, the DIY ethos? Unmatched. No major labels, no overpriced merch—just pure, uncompromising music. 30+ years later, Repeater still sounds fresh, still makes you wanna move, and still reminds you why Fugazi was different.
If this is your first look into the realm of punk/post-hardcore scene, have fun.
A.G’s record is his best to date, but lengthy. Had he cut out some of the slower cuts it would be undeniably incredible. Really great stuff all around tho. Its finally getting warm enough to enjoy Turnstile, too. Glow On is a record that radiates warmth through meaty punk riffs, surf rock melodies and intensive drumming.
I moved to London a couple months ago. Last week, I saw The Dare live & in person for the first time, so I wrote about it for my blog. Give it a read if you got a couple minutes :)
