LOOK AT ANYTHING YOU MAKE AND THERE YOU ARE

Firstly, I just started watching Ronnie Grace on YouTube and she’s really inspiring to me. She is such a positive person with a really great outlook. This video specifically spoke to me. I struggle a lot with self image, so the video I’ve linked is really helpful for that. She said something that stuck with me, “look at anything you make and there you are”. The beauty that I’m able to recognize and capture is already within me. Anything I make is a part of me. I don’t feel beautiful most of the time but with this in mind, I think I can get to a place where I do feel beautiful.

The Internet

It’s simply unbelievable what is online. Crazy stuff and they show it! It’s only getting better too. It shows me these things all day, and I don’t even have to ask. It recently showed me a video of a very ugly woman and at first, I was very mad watching it... I hated this woman (because she was ugly) but then something amazing happened... She changed herself somehow and became very beautiful... When I saw this my feelings towards the woman changed. Now I felt very positively about the woman. That wouldn't have happened without the internet.

This is the best resource I have found, bar none, for reconnecting with and developing personal style! I have been consuming personal style-related content for a couple of years, and nothing comes close to what she’s developed. It’s less about any kind of “type” or what’s supposed to be flattering, and more about how to make style work for you in the ways it can best serve you, how to dress in a way that’s more expressive of who you really are, and how to enjoy the journey with your wardrobe!

It’s full of inspiring artist documentaries from their studio talking about themes in their work and process. If you need a place to start, try this one on Firelei Báez. It was my introduction into her, and I haven’t stopped thinking about it since I watched it at the beginning of December. Think I’ll do a rewatch this weekend.
