i do organizing work on the college campus i'm on, which is currently facing budget cuts, and a large question in the leftist activist spaces is whether we start organizing with pro-israel or groups that don't necessarily align with our values, but in this specific instance, they do. it's sort of a hard thing to square because for a while we were in conflict with these groups but i was recently told by someone i'm organizing with "just as much as you have a moral prerogative to do what's right, you have to have the moral perogative to win because that's how change happens" idk it really changed my perspective and has been a good motivator for the past couple weeks

If you have any heart, then you can see that we need a revolution that would strike the final blow against the greatest cause of misery and exploitation in the world, U.S. Imperialism.
I’ve seen a lot of folks who recognize this, but then very pessimistically bemoan the lack of organization among the left. Generally, the people who believe this are not organized themselves, and if they were, they would probably not believe this. They don’t know that as capitalism progresses, it digs its own grave - the crises of 2020 resulted in a swell of membership among all the Red organizations, the Palestine solidarity movement after Oct. 7th saw a swell, and now after Trump’s re-election, we are seeing droves of people join orgs like DSA, PSL, and FRSO.
In contradiction between two things (eg. Capitalism being the contradiction between the bourgeoisie and the proletariat) we can first make quantitative changes (an increase in membership, the establishment of greater union power, the development of political leadership among the masses) which at a certain level makes a qualitative leap that changes the nature of the contradiction. The aspect which was primary, becomes subordinate to that which was secondary. The more we fight, develop, and harm the enemy; the more we shift the scales in our favor and make the possibility of revolution higher.
There is hope for a revolution w/in our lifetime.

trying to get the local city council to make some movement with a toothless ceasefire resolution from february is weirdly crazy hard
i don’t know how inner government works and it’s confusing and it feels silly that even a small town is so bogged down in bureaucracy
idk some people advise working within the government system to change it and some advise tearing it apart to build on top and some people want to do a little bit of both and i guess i think we should use everything at our disposal

i will never be in a situationship in the same way i will never be in the land of oz--it's just not real. i think using the word doesn't let you self-reflect in a way that is truly helpful. i was telling my friend about the awkwardness of seeing an exhook up in a relationship bc i thought we had mutual feelings and she said "oh your exsituationship" and i thought (for the first time) no, we had clear boundaries i just got my hopes up. my point is that instead of using situationship as a catch-all for not quite dating or wtv failed prospect, take it as a moment to reflect on what exactly went wrong. idk if this is profound or not

i’m averaging 14,000 steps a day for the past year, why? i walk everywhere. at one point i was averaging 16,000 (this is my flex). you get to explore a city and now when people ask me for directions i can actually tell them bc i’ve gotten really good at knowing where i am. if it takes less than an hour for me to walk from a to b, i will walk. if i have enough time i’ll walk 2+ hours just to see someone. just put on a good playlist/pod and go go go!!
