go to your local joanns everything is on sale because theyre going out of business (heartbreaking) glitter, pens, scrapbooks, paper are all on sale. find a magazine cut out pictures go to walgreens print off pictures and just cut!!! make things !!! even if they're ugly
cheaper option open mspaint and just start drawing like you're a kid. highly recommend great pasttime

go get magazines or books from the thrift store and make some art. functional sometimes even,,??!?!! this is the lid to a box i will store trinkets in. one of these cut outs is from a magazine i photo copied for a quarter cuz i didnt wanna ruin the original. theres so many possibilities ! ive even used junk mail newspaper ads that usually get thrown away

honestly the best way to spend an empty afternoon. love a monthly recap or vision board. litro anything in print on paper with some cute doodles is the best !!

reels are like... the mcdonalds of media except worse because mcdonalds is tasty. rarely do i ever get a reel that i'm like ohoho!!! thank god i came across this!!! i've largely split from using ig at all because of how easy it is to lose yourself in reels + how shitty i feel after. fuck short form portrait doomscrolling all my homies hate short form portrait doomscrolling

i guess you don't HAVE to use a rec as a rec, but maybe have a third option other than rec and ask. maybe just call it thoughts? for when you have a thought or a feeling that you want to share but it isn't a recommendation.
maybe having an anti-rec option under recs, too! like a drop down when you do choose to make a rec, you can choose to anti-rec. make sense??
lastly, having changing your email/password built into the settings. i ran into this the other day when i put my email in wrong and had to get ahold of you guys!!
