i had been feeling so uninspired for months but since a couple of weeks ago my mind is full of ideas and random sentences that i've written down and i'm now turning into my next substack posts. i love it whenever inspiration hits but when it hits after a slump it's even better! it's like i can feel my purpose again and it's so exciting to create something you can truly be proud of

answering my own question, i'd say don't let inspo pile up! i have endless pinterest boards that speak to me but i need to take it and make something! i'd say im in my transitioning period of being stuck to being unstuck, and with that i'm writing out my plans clear cut and it helps me by having bite sized pieces!

at least for me, writer's block occurs when i feel like i've exhausted thoughts, ideas, motifs, etc. that used to fuel creative output previously – but changing your perspective (either by changing your influences, or your environment, etc.) will put more gas in your tank to write new, exciting things, and to experiment with how you write about those things
in the artist's way, julia cameron mentions how a core tenant of the program is "artist dates" where you go out on a solo excursion to give yourself more creative "input" like novel life experiences, new perspectives on familiar experiences, etc. that can then funnel into creative output
i think a similar effort is just reading more; for example, i like sci-fi as a consumer, but when i was reading parable of the sower by octavia butler for a book club, i was so inspired by it that previous projects in that genre i had parked because they felt uninspired became exciting to work on again. new sci-fi projects came to me and gave me some runway to outline / draft them. same for fantasy, non-fiction, etc
the more you're inspired (either by your experiences or your influences) the easier it will be to write more, because exploration will often take less effort than refinement. both are essential parts of the process, but if you're exclusively refining based on a body of work limited in scope, it's going to take more time / be more agonizing / feel less worth it; if you can expand that scope, there'll always be something to say on the page

i'm gonna break the news to everyone this weekend but i need to tell someone right now - i passed the selection process for a one year internship at my local library with the highest score !!! it will be my first job and i felt so bad and out of place in every job interview i've ever had except for this one, the people there were so lovely and were genuinely interested in me and my interests. i can't believe it, i'm so excited i could cry :'))

i used to look up to my friends’ older siblings and think wow i can’t wait to become as cool as them one day. then when i became a teen and i was so shy and cared too much about what others thought of me and the rise of social media didn’t help at all. but now i think back at the little diva i was and she would want me to feel confident, to be unique and happy and to keep being kind to others. her opinion is the only one that matters to me now
