been listening to a lot more albums lately and because of the nature of what I can find second hand, I’ve been listening to a lot of older stuff
* Haim - Days Are Gone
Actually forgot how much this bangs, some of these songs feel like classic songs, like they’ve existed forever.
* The Blue Bile - Hats
Actually a classic, perfect for this time of year northern hemisphere wise
* Best Coast - Crazy For You
I go through phases listening to this every year I love it. Kind of the worse time of year to listen to this album northern hemisphere wise but maybe in a way it’s reflective of the summer lost

reading, writing and arithmetic is one of my favorite albums so it’s a high i ’ve been chasing for years. i feel like it’s very hard to replicate 1:1 but here’s some things that personally evoke similar feelings.
the cardigans 1994 album emmerdale - sweet vocals + running through fields vibes for sure
faye wong’s ECO PACK-王菲-浮躁- light hearted basslines and playful melodies
alice phoebe lou- any of her work, really. not an exact match sonically, but there’s a similar sense of whimsy in her voice and lyricism.
this song by hey cowboy!
tiger trap’s 1993 self titled- a similar sense of atmospheric cheekiness, but faster in a lot of parts with much fuzzier guitars.
