coming out of the theater after seeing the minecraft movie and thinking about all its napoleon dynamite references…haven’t had tots in a while but i will make up for that very soon (with a tater tot pizza 4 breakfast mm)
“tina you fat lard, come get some dinner!” i can’t explain how exactly this movie defined me without doing an extreme self-character study, but it has made me extremely unfunny. i saw this at eleven years old, and immediately my takeaway was “cringe and quirky comedy is paramount; i devote my life to you.” now after seeing much funnier movies, i’m arguably a lot funnier (thank god), but this is still one of my favorites. still so funny in ways i could never be.
without spoiling too much, there is a harmonica—crazy stuff. he had it! gary lucas’s guitar work is the stuff of legend and i am jealous. also see ‘cruel’ on the same album…save me
