by this i mean what’s the time of day this is occurring? what’s the venue like/what’s the weather like? who’s going to be there?
i was raised to believe you can never be overdressed in most instances it just makes you stand out in a good way! but those three questions should maybe help nail down what pieces the outfit needs to consist of and then you can worry about what qualities those pieces possess that makes them a whole formal getup.
without any further info i would guess a nice button up shirt tucked into some slacks with a dress shoe or similar would be appropriate, jacket if it’s evening, a watch if you’ve got one.

i have two under two and i’ve never felt more vulnerable or in love with the world despite the calamities! i’ve never had more empathy or patience or compassion for all living things! i’m also so tired and hormonal rn so don’t make any rash decisions but so far it’s working for me ☆
ps. pregnancy and labor and delivery physically went very smoothly for me. i had freaky ppd the first time around but so far this time is just overwhelmingly wonderful?? results may vary.
