MPB and Bossa Nova have enjoyed little bursts of popularity in the american consciousness, most recent one on clock app as of 2021ish? (Time is fake now) Point is I almost never see Jorge Ben Jor mentioned and that’s a travesty . I see Sergio Mendez mentioned all the time but his biggest hit Mas Que Nada was written by Jorge and is so much better and bathed in that samba feel, like everything Jorge makes.
