and women's clothes honestly. thrifting helps to stop seeing clothes as gendered when they're all mixed together. and if you're a guy, that'll come through no matter what you wear as long as you feel good. plus men's clothes suck for the most part, all the fashionable guys i know wear women's stuff. and congratulations on surgery! check out some blouses that stick to your shoulders nicely that you can leave way unbuttoned. can't wait to get there soon.

this took me some timeeee. first thing is to try not to get too upset if you can’t find sizes at the thrift or anywhere really i just tend to only thrift. i think layering is one of the first things people usually suggest when someone is looking to change up their style but idk about you, i get hot way too quickly. if u wanna layer still, try looking for pieces that are a cooler material like cotton or smth if you are wanting to layer. a staple fit for me has been a short or long sleeved button up with some jeans. i like buttoning only the one second from the top because i feel like it gives a better shape and then wearing just a plain white or black tee underneath. accessories are really good to play with, especially if you’re expecting to lose weight because other than rings and belts, they’ll stay with you no matter your size. thrift a nice pair of sunglasses, put them in your hair even if it’s gloomy! hats too, these i find harder bc of my head shape but if you look long and hard enough you’ll be able to find some nice ones. last thing, try stuff on even if you don’t think you’ll like how it looks!!!! i would get so in my head and insecure that i’d pass on things that i thought would only look good on skinny people but once i stopped and just gave it a shot i found some of my most favourite pieces

Thrifting is amazing for so many reasons:
- sustainable - a fun mission - affordable - good quality stuff at a much lower price - anything and everything is possible!
I like to go to the more affluent thrift stores in the burbs (the old ladies like to donate their good brands, silk, cashmere, ect).
My method is to go in with an intention, a manifestation, if you will. More times than not, it will be there! Bonus thrift karma if you bring an offering to donate.
I will take it rack by rack - shove everything to one side and shift through as quickly as possible - looking for higher end brands and materials (silk, cashmere, linen, denim, leather, and cotton). Avoid rayon, acrylic, polyester, anything synthetic if you can.
Fashion repeats itself every 20 years so likely whatever trendy item you’re looking for already exists from another decade and likely it will be better quality.
Last point is to know the difference between vintage and thrift. Vintage stores they have already done the “sourcing” so they are marked up. I love the grimy thrift stores and the smaller ones (not Goodwill - prices are a fking joke there). I also do a lot of online searching on Depop, Poshmark, EBay, fb marketplace, Mercari, ect. Found an entire new wardrobe for my partner online for less than $200.

we could much better categorize clothing by fit types and measurements, if i didn’t say it all the time nobody would know that all my pants are from various women’s sections at thrift stores
. and guess whattttt..??? nobody CARES!!!!!! wear everything all the time ever actually
is there a word like secular but for gender because most if not all things should be that

i love being alone. i know who i am when i'm alone and i love myself when i'm alone. when i'm around people it's easy to forget and i get lost and aimless.
how do you share parts of yourself without feeling overexposed? even just sharing creative work makes me feel like it's not mine any more and makes me doubt the part of myself that went into making it. but i also feel so stagnant when i'm not putting anything out into the world. where is the balance? how do you deal with this?
