It's this youtube channel making videos about designers with really small apartments and how they make use of their space in really clever ways. Awesome way to fantasize about living in a different city, maybe gain some inspo for your own place, or just admire the cool stuff they come up with. I really like a lot of the Paris ones, that city has crazy small apartments in weird configurations that take some wacky solutions.

1. BRENDAWARENESS: really cool and good for the fashion girlies. it is a smaller podcast channel by "Hashtag Brenda", she is big in fashion (she literally spent her birthday with Rick Owens). I call her my digital big sister.

5. FRANK WATKINSON: an old man who does very cute covers of songs which make me cry everytime. he also has original songs. he's been on youtube for like 10 years at least and loves sufjan stevens.

6. KERWIN FROST: this may be a bit rogue but he was my fav person when i was like 13 in 2018 and was like super into tyler the creator. Kerwin is a really cool DJ and his interviews are so fun to watch. he doesn't post much now but he has done interviews with young lean and dev hynes which rlly impacted me when i was younger and revisit from time to time

7. MYTHICAL KITCHEN (LAST MEAL): might just be my favourite series on the internet everrrr. a very talented chef called Josh hosts celebrity guests and chefs make their "death row meal". they've had guests like Karamo from queer eye, steve-o and tom hanks.

ARCHITECTUAL DIGEST (OPEN DOOR + SPACE SAVERS): i love looking at rich peoples houses, so cool. open house is a series where they go to celebrity houses, obvs so fun to watch. space savers is a series where 3 different architects get given a space and they get to draft whatever they want, the results are so cool! The Local Project is an Australian architecture and design premium magazine, with a youtube channel that focuses on some of their standout featured properties. Last weekend, I threw this channel onto my Apple TV and ended up watching every video they had to offer. It was the perfect in-between of calming background videos for cleaning / house-related chores, and full attention-grabbing material I sat glued to as I took in beautiful very custom homes, often designed with an environment-first initiative.

“Bottega Gabriele” in Seattle is the type of place where while eating my meal I met the guy who made its entire family. I think they’re from Calabria and Sardinia. Me and the grandmother got to chatting it up about Virginia Woolf bc we both love modernist literature. The owner gave me some Umberto Eco reading recommendations. This was the type of random interaction to reinvigorate my belief in humanity. Sandwich was fire too.

I really love film and wanna break into that world one day, but for now I'm just starting with making scrappy stuff with friends. The whole thing sounded so intimidating, like what do you mean I have to give people a script and put a camera in front of their face and ask them to pretend to be someone else??? That takes a lot of vulnerability I think.
Turns out it's so much fun and I need to start doing it more. This first silly video is in fact for a competition my university library is holding to make a promotional short for the libraries. Lowkey don't think we achieved the goal but I hope some student worker gets a laugh.
