Basil *and* parsley pesto

My mom did it once when she realized she didn’t have enough basil and it was a revelation. I do too did this the last night when I realized I also did not have enough basil. I will never remember to buy enough basil again.

In awe of fungi

"Entangled Life: How Fungi Make Our Worlds, Change our Minds, Shape Our Futures" by Merlin Sheldrake, and "The Secret Life of Fungi" by Aliya Whiteley. I need to share these books. Zombie Fungus? Mind blowing. You're also telling me the intelligence of slime mould was used to optimise transportation networks, specifically the greater Tokyo area's railway system? Unreal. Nature goes crazy (the picture is of a zombie fungus bursting out of a fly by Roberto García Roa)

BEFRIENDING THE NEIGHBOURHOOD CAT

I’d always see this kitty hanging around the neighbourhood, she would even come into my garden every now and then but seemed shy. Recently, she had become bold enough to say hello. Luckily I had some leftover hake from the dinner my sister had made that evening. It made for a good bargaining chip in gaining the cat’s friendship. She’s now called Sasha, and she has become well acquainted with my lap. Made my week.
