this works best with two people
1. go to a gas station, dollar store, or target - somewhere cheap with a variety of objects - with a friend or partner (note: i love Wawa for this activity)
2. set a budget or total number of objects
3. you and your friend/person will now walk around the store in opposite directions and select random sh*t for each other in secret. collect until you get to your budget or object number limit (i.e., you will be collecting stuff for your friend and your friend will be collecting stuff for you)
4. purchase items in separate lanes for MAXIMUM SECRECY
4.5. if you have no money, you can just meet at the front of the store for the grand reveal and laugh at what you chose for each other
5. meet in car, or wait to get home, and do a grand reveal!!!
6. use or eat the items purchased for longer lasting joy

its kind of like a little shoppy shop if you really put your mind to it there is wonder to be discovered within. for example when you find the mini cheese ends that are like $2

you walk past a man at the grocery store, the aisles have recently been reorganized and condensed because they're renovating the pharmacy section. you can hear him talking to himself, repeating the aisle number that the employee had told him, "TWO", clearly stressed out because he cant find the face-masks. he's holding his own face-mask on with one hand behind his head, grasping the broken straps with a few fingers, but he's determined to maintain his public obligation. you take note of this, and once you enter the next aisle, aisle THREE, you see that the face-masks are right there, right at the end of the aisle. you grab them, and walk back to the other aisle, hoping he's still there. he is. you hold the masks up, and he shoots his hands up as if his team just scored a goal. you toss him the masks, and he says something along the lines of "oh boy, i'm going to give that lady such a hard time!" he gives you two thumbs up and makes his way to the front of the store. on your way out of the store you see him teasing the employee that told him the wrong aisle, but they're both clearly enjoying the banter. you've just successfully stolen half a pound of port salut and two snake plants.

if ygs are making a switch to being at home baristas (as like a fun/motivating morning routine and/or a way to save your wallet) i def suggest adding these. good in milk/milk alternatives, matcha, coffee, etc.
had no idea this was a thing but itβs not messy and takes like 1 min or less to heat up. Life is so beautiful
