recently I've been "cooking" just for myself for fun, and I have found some very yummy recipes!!! I put "cooking" in quotes because I don't think it technically counts as real, classical cooking, more of just mixing things together, but it's so fun and so yummy! I've been mainly making salads, but I am experimenting with other things. it is so cool to take certain elements from different recipes and combining them to make something entirely new!

One of my favorite activities to do is cooking. I rarely eat out, maybe because I grew up in a African household where the question of eating out would be met with “What about the food you have in your fridge?” This year specifically where all of us were forced to stay inside, has pushed me to explore my love for cooking even more. Never with a set menu (unless my cravings were elevated), I would leave the task of creating a meal as I opened the fridge. Wonderfully guided along by weekly food boxes from my local community garden, I would just try and combine new and old flavors to create a wonderful lunch or dinner. Paired with a nice glass of natty wine (Gamay Gang). Enjoy the process!

One of the true joys of cooking is going to the grocery store with only a vague concept of what you want for dinner, and then improvising something beautiful in the kitchen afterwards
Break the rules, make a pasta the wrong way, add white wine to sprite, burn the hell out of your herbs - something delicious might be returned to you as a result

I didn't think I'd enjoy cooking sm and now that I've finally live by myself , learning to cook has been sm fun. I'm so looking forward to being really good at it so I can cook for all my friends 🥰🥰🥰

I am so absolutely SICK and TIRED of this whole “nonchalant” thing!!! we were put onto this planet to care and laugh and have fun and talk !!! no one cares about anything anymore and I’m OVER IT!!! bring back caring about things and having interests!!!!!!

friends, family, strangers, cashiers, whoever it may be, smiling at people is so fun and cool! maybe it is just because I am a beautiful lady (that is sarcastic it is not meant to come off as vain) but I find whenever I smile at someone, they smile back, and now two people are smiling! smiling has even been proven to make you happier. my source? just trust me 🙏. I kind of see it as an acknowledgement, like I am human and you are human and we are both here and we are both living and alive and I see you! and maybe you see me! who knows, you may even make someone’s day just a little bit better :)

very often I am walking around in public and I notice someone with a very cool outfit or something similar but how do I tell them when they’re already about to be out of earshot?!? my solution: very obviously turn my head again! I hope I don’t come off as weird I don’t want people to think I’m judging but if someone gives me a double take I think I’d take it well :p
