Just randomly came up on my recommended page and clicked in it for something to play in the background while doing the dishes. ended up getting way more emotional than I thought. it’s pretty much a video about YouTuber globert playing a dying game for 30 days and really showcases the communities of ol’ that we lost when the internet became more centralised. watching globert interact with this small community of dedicated players to a game that is boarder-line lost to time really made me long to what the internet used to be, People trying to make real connections in a virtual spaces. give it a watch.

ive never been much of a gamer, but I recently tried playing that’s not my neighbor and it was actually really fun (perhaps because of its rather simple game setup) so I’m kind of invested into playing more but primarily ones with more serious storylines
this vid here caught my eye today (highly recommend, very well organized and made me think a lot about my own experiences!!)
i first encountered silent hill 2 when I was 12 and I didn’t really process the story or its themes in that first gameplay but revisiting the game as an adult has kind of blown my mind a bit by just how heavy the emotional weight of the game is (and how I had no business playing it at the age of 12…)
I haven’t played mouthwashing but I am really interested in playing it after watching this video

I would never play Poppy Playtime myself, but I really really love watching YouTubers I like play horror games. I don’t know why but it’s so addicting and thrilling. I first saw Dan and Phil play Poppy Playtime (I haven’t watched their main channels in years but I will probably still be watching DanAndPhilGames when I’m 40) and I just couldn’t get the game out of my head. Then I saw Shane and Ryan from Watcher (prev Buzzfeed Unsolved!) play it and I got to relive it. I don’t know what it is about this game but I cannot stop thinking about it, maybe it’s the world building or the scares or the design but either way I’m on the edge of my seat waiting for the next chapter to come out, and then for Dan and Phil and Shane and Ryan to play it. I won’t watch it unless it’s a YouTuber I know and love cause what if that person is annoying. I‘m waiting for the day Drew Gooden or Danny Gonzalez start a gaming channel.

I know a 6 hour long youtube video about a PS1 game you’ve never played is a hard sell, but I swear you’ll love it. Going into something blind and leaving with an extensive knowledge of the subject and the author’s relationship with it is stupidly rewarding. Believe it or not you will be moved by this untranslated 24 year old video game! I watch this like twice a year lol, if you only watch one Action Button review make sure it’s this one

or really any social media stories. I know social media is just a highlight of a persons life but I feel like the stories feature is just a bombardment of happening-in-present-time content for me to compare myself to. my mental health has improved drastically.
