I first heard “Going Out Of My Head”, a stunning and poignant track, when it was in a Mad Men episode years and years ago. Over time, this got into the rotation as a novelty, a curveball and change of pace occasionally. This album just delivers such a strange, vivid, and delightful nostalgia for something I never even experienced- it makes me feel as if I’m at a party my grandparents are hosting in the 1960s, sipping on a cocktail, sitting in a wood paneled room. Undoubtedly the tv usage helped this, but I think that’s an inherent vibe of this record by itself. How wonderful it is when music can take us to a different time and place.
