The movie itself falls into the "so bad it's good" category, but the soundtrack is actually perfect. PJ Harvey? Michael Hutchence covering Iggy Pop? Massive Attack covering The Marvelettes? Nick Cave? Method Man?!? Kiss from a motherfucking Rose??? What do you want? "Where Are You Now" by Brandy & Lenny Kravitz and "Bad Days" by the Flaming Lips are to this day some of my favorite songs in the world.
Songs are soooo good (letβs stay together, son of a preacher man, YOU NEVER CAN TELL???)+I have it on CD so it includes some snippets of dialogue which is so sick
technically not an album but this is hands down the best soundtrack of the QT universe. super cinematic in a chill way, the vinyl has been on the turntable since it got home about a month ago and i listen to it in the morning whenever i can
is this the best fake album ever made for a movie? it is to me. i listen to this album all the time. it's peak 2000s rock. 3 small words is my favorite. kay henley's voice is so good and even the two dujour songs rip. actually this is just a good ass movie that was unjustly hated on. parker posey and alan cumming chew up every scene they're in. i love it and more people should revisit it for a fun time. the vinyl will always be my white whale since it was only a super limited run.
They're consummate empaths and they keep it really fucking simple. A toddler will give you a savage and brutally accurate read. Also, most times they don't really know what you're even going on and on about but they like to hear you talk so they're great listeners, too.
Being really psyched on the things you really really like is super honest and brave, and I admire people who can do it effortlessly. Sometimes I'll get the PI newsletter and I'll think to myself, "oh here goes this fucking poser" but then they'll totally surprise me with their unabashed love for something unexpected and I learn to be a little less judgmental. It's my favorite thing about this platform, actually.
