as much as I love a $7-$9 coffee, going to my favorite diner and drinking a mug of their shitty, hot, drip coffee (with a little cream and a little sugar, of course) almost feels like going to church. like I’m taking communion. such a timeless tradition that always soothes the soul just the same no matter the person you were or are or will become

fifth wave coffee is going to church again just to have access to the pinnacle of the coffee experience: free church coffee. could I have just gone to a nice cafe to get a fancy ass $10 latte with a ton of adjunct flavors and a lovely latte art swan? yeah, and that’s awesome too, but this coffee is free and made with love and sometimes a mug of too hot bitter black coffee given in abundance is the communion I need to get in touch with god today

i am historically not a morning person, but recently when my body wants to add an extra surprise hour to my day i’ve started listening. sometimes i light a candle and sometimes i watch an episode of an anime and all the time i drink coffee. the whole world can be my oyster when it feels like i have it to myself
