haven't read this in a while since i studied it for secondary school but yes rebecca is kind of underrated and the 2020 netflix remake/adaption should have never happened

@FC2437 i love it!!! it's not a perfectly faithful adaptation (hays code and all that) but i LOVE the way the scene is shot when maxim is confessing in the boat house and that rebecca is never shown but she still so clearly haunts the house

oh my goddd my friends have all gotten tired of me talking about this book because i literally bring it up whenever someone asks for book recs but it’s sooo amazingly written it’s a shame it isn’t more well known!! the plot is fairly simple, a woman named cassandra comes home from college to attend her twin sister’s wedding, but where it really shines is the unique character studies and the fun/relatable prose and inner monologue! it was written by dorothy baker in the 60s, and is pretty progressive for the time (the main character is lesbian which was definitely not accepted much back then!!) anyways i would definitely read it if you’re a fan of very down to earth and relatable stories! (although trigger warning for suicidal ideations, its not graphic but still!)

My favorite was Rebecca by Daphne de Maurier. It’s a classic but not boring at all.

so turns out working 20 hrs/wk at the public library and finding a good book series means you absolutely DEMOLISH your reading goals for the year. i set them at an achievable 10 books this year and i read like. nine. in march. yet another win for the humble public library

i would do a lot to be able to buy (buy!!!! i know you can make it but i can't do that rn) a gluten free pizza that ISN'T the thinnest crust known to man. have u seen all the technology we have. surely i can have a cheesy stuffed crust that won't make me feel like i have the flu. surely this is possible
my best suggestion is finding nonfiction in a topic you're interested in and going from there. not all nonfiction has to read like a textbook!! i love caitlin doughty's books, and i remember liking one by mary roach
