This is unrelated but one of my friends attends a course at her university called 'history of the theater' and the professor teaching it unironically thinks Shakespeare never existed so he skips all his works. When I asked what if someone shows him a book with Shakespeare's works she said to this day no one dared to try. I guess I'm explaining this just to be able to inform you that SHAKESPEARE NEVER EXISTED as I always do since I first heard about it. My second favourite conspiracy theory.

@MARZU haha, I've heard this one before. it's popular amongst neoreactionaries who believe that a commoner like Shakespeare could NEVER have written the greatest works of the english language. They believe some dipshit english nobleman actually wrote it

The best $25 I spend every month. Literally pays for itself if you see one movie plus if I see a bad movie I don’t feel like I wasted money

I recently watched The Monkey for free at Chicago's Music Box Theatre — and even stuck around for Perkin's Q&A session. I have to say, it was the best movie-going experience I've ever had. An organist played the score with diabolical cymbals in the background — come on! And the movie was hilarious and equal parts gory!

Staying at the Roxy in NY (formerly the Tribeca Grand) is akin to being on an elegant cruise in Manhattan. It’s my home away from home in the city. Everything is there: from live jazz in the massive atrium lobby with the glass elevator zipping up and down and the divine food and drinks (I recommend the lobster roll and a mescal cocktail) in recessed leather booths shaped like teacups, to the gorgeous red velvet theater below - which offers the best films on screen in Manhattan - curated by the brilliant Illyse Singer. After attending a killer film and fascinating Q&A, retreat to the Django, the speakeasy next door, which stays open til 4AM and is often where the hottest underground music acts play… What else could you ask for?

extend the life of your clothes by covering holes or stains with embroidery floss and yarn while giving them new cool zombie flair! you don’t even have to be neat, the more imperfect the weave the more organic the result. the best mended garments are almost fungal, covered in sick multi-colored lichen.

it’s not bed rotting to rest when you’re tired, run-down, or sick. I can feel where capitalist dogma has seeped into me every time I feel doubt or shame for how much time I’ve spent in bed or doing very little, or the fear that I’ll never be motivated to do anything again. it’s not true! inevitably after only 3 days of solid rest I naturally crave activity, projects, organization, work, and not as penance. rec for rest: screen time of any kind is not the rest I’m talking about… we’re talking rest as a monotask.
