i know it's august, but it's so easy for me to slip into a gloomy fall mood any time of year and as such, i've had this song on repeat. i'm a big sucker for strong lyricism and this song is no exception. the fact that she takes you on this journey about the death of a relationship she's in by literally opening the song with "Pull the plug in September, I don't wanna die in June" is so poignant yet beautiful. ALSO, the gunshot right after she says "I'll hang on 'til the chaos is through" is perfectly incorporated and really the cherry on top given the subject matter of the song. if you're looking to feel the sonic embodiment of a lonesome autumn in the form of a song, give this track a listen.

can‘t get enough of this slice of country Aussie (i think) history. heartbreaking. uplifting. banging instrumentals. it’s a slice of heaven from a random playlist of a skateboarder who sadly passed very young last year. weird getting to know someone so intimately you never knew from their playlist and really getting such a true portal into their joy.

I just love when people share personal anecdotes in relation to why they love a song From emma's recent upload about her greatest songs of all time, my favorite is when she describes Light On by Pinegrove feeling like throwing a rock at your ex's window for another chance but not in a desperate way

i decided to spend my birthday last year in patagonia because i wanted to go on an adventure and see beautiful things. the initial plan was to go to antarctica but that didn’t work out so i decided to go to as close to the end of the world as i could. it’s really one of those trips that make you believe in the glorious mysteries of life. exploring the wilderness while listening to black marble’s ‘it’s immaterial’ was wonderful.
