Maya is my favorite dancer, no contest. She’s only 20 years old and was just promoted to Principal Dancer at the Royal Swedish Ballet after dancing the role of Giselle. I’ve been watching her dance online for a while, and seeing her get the promotion this week nearly brought a tear to my eye. The trajectory of her career is incredible. I am so proud! She is so skilled, and there’s just something about her that really captivates me. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for her. I also recommend checking out her fellow principal, Madeline Woo. Both amazing ballerinas and so fun to watch.
