i'm trying to make myself smarter and my paintings better, so i've been staying up lateāuntil i can feel myself falling asleep on the couchāand watching videos of other, way more successful artists talking to public access tv people about their work. growing up my dad always did the same thing, except instead of consuming media about culture or philosophy, he would watch like, ghost adventures, or shows about building cars.
linked is my favorite clip that i've watched recently; an artist with no pretentions and who uses their work to invest in and be a creative catalyst for their local community is something that i strive to be. also, did anybody else here get a BFA and just absolutely love getting assigned to watch one of these videos???
such an amazing artist because his work doesnāt last. this documentary makes you want to interact with the world in ways that donāt use it up or consume but add to it and then disappear.
one of my favorite, most slept-on bands ever. cheesy 80s pop that has no right to be as lyrically impressive and self-aware as it is. also they did a mostly instrumental record in 2003 called I Trawl the Megahertz thatās all string arrangements with radio interview samples blended in if thatās more your thing. awesome range, Cars and Girls was my most listened to song of 2024. also the singer dresses like that now so u know heās the real deal
part 1:
1. psychic detective, heard about this while researching the gameās director, John Sanborn, who is a dope video artist
2. donāt remember how i found this but itās a giant pdf publication of weird art stuff
3. i think someone on reddit was talking about mods you can make to your office chair so you donāt fuck your floors up which led me to check out these casters. BIG fan of casters tbh.
4. donāt remember how i found this either, looks cool
5. loveee this Cristina album cover and my dumb ass saw the (VERY FAMOUS) grace jones album cover by jean paul goude and was like āno way they ripped off Cristina!!!ā but it was the same guy lol
