no matter how long it takes me, the satisfaction of reading a book cover to cover is unmatched. i like to give myself as much time as i need to read and not force a deadline on myself. iโve found this makes reading much more enjoyable and i actually retain much of what i read.

i went to the met alone a few days ago and it was so wonderful. not having anyone with me allows me the luxury of spending as long as i want in an exhibit or at an artwork. no rushing from my impatient family or fear of inconveniencing them by spending 5 minutes at one painting. it was just me and my music, so peaceful. iโm definitely doing it again.

Mary Oliver has such a wonderful appreciation and connection to the natural world and itโs felt through her writing. Upstream is a collection of essays all with the central idea of the complexity of nature and our role as humans in the world. The influence Emerson and Whitman have on her writing is very apparent. A must-read!

something so scrumptious about browsing books at a library or bookstore. seeing all the different kinds of literature i could read and stories i could experience. tooooo good
