The sheer relatability of this movie 20+ years later is a testament to its wit and charm, as well as to the stubbornness and rigidity of the post-grad corporate experience. CLOCKWATCHERS is reassuring, semi-romanticizing the 9-5 drudgery, while illustrating just how arbitrary the office setting truly is. Relatable! Parker Posey again proves to be the most darling of 90s indie darlings, and I feel a kinship to all of the main characters based on their chunky mary janes alone. Cheers to female friendship, may it exist as fashionably and as rebelliously as capitalism allows!

Multiple reasons to visit NGA, but the free screenings are among the top for me. Thought provoking programming that is usually tied in some way to ongoing exhibitions. I don’t watch trailers so I love to go in there without any expectations. Shout out to the lush red velvet seating - so cozy.

Ok like very few people maybe just one recommended this and I liked it maybe more than the motion picture museum it’s very funny and there’s so much packed into it and good stuff!! Plus they have costumes and stuff too and a Hannibal lecter prison cell recreation and a lot of mannequins with paper cut out heads and displays for movies that are ??? (Van helsing, transformers, quill??)

since the first day of middle school (and i remember this cus it felt like a Very Big Day for me) my alarm has been set as Walk Don't Run by The Ventures cus i was a little surf guitar loving dweeb. u would think i'd be tired of it after 15 yrs of setting multiple alarms to wake myself up/take my meds etc but i'm not! people always comment on how nice it is when they hear it too... esp my granddad ^_^

like many baristas my age, i had an affinity for french pop music as a highschooler, particularly "yé-yé", which was what they called 60's pop! i was down with a bad case of main character syndrome (a common symptom of being a teenager) so i loved the drama of it all - chic and taboo like smoking secret cigarettes 🙄 i was also taking french in school - i was terrible at it but being able to vaguely understand the lyrics helped me to appreciate it even more. flash fwd a few years & i was finally presented with the opportunity to travel to france!!! i never ever thought i'd get to see paris but the stars aligned and i spent a week there in summer 2023 with my fiancé and my dad (which was particularly special bc i never get to travel with him) 🥺 it was incredibly romantic (despite the lack of air conditioning...wtf europe) and i had also gotten my garçon into the french music i'd loved as a teen so our visit was soundtracked by the likes of françoise hardy, jacqueline taïeb, jacques brel, sylvie vartan, jacques dutronc, jane birkin, serge gainsbourg (melody nelson holds up if i pretend i don't know what he's saying!!) etc 🥰 the video i linked is one of the only videos i took while in paris, and it's possibly my fav video i've taken ever - the little girl i accidentally caught dancing in front of the eiffel tower makes me smile every time i watch it.
