i wish their stuff sounded a little more like Selfish Machines now just because that album is so perfect. I love the touch of traditional Mexican music and emo β i want more of that. Itβs why the album continues to be on repeat but their new stuff sounds good too! Surprised a band has kept my favor this long tbh.
i already posted about this on my music-centric public finsta/meme insta account (@valleygirl5678 as well if ya wanna follow π) but wow this album might be one of my faves of the year. after a first listen of a new album i usually dont feel the urge to listen again until at least the next day because i usually need time to let the first listen sort of settle in before going back to it. but this album... like i immediately had the urge to listen again i craved it (a feeling i have honestly not had with a new album since maybe magdalena bay's 'imaginal disk' from last year???) but ya listen to this album u will not regret it!!! such an easy listen but also quite experimental for a rock album which is great its the perfect combo π€
see a toad, a leopard frog, a crawfish, a small mouth bass, a cricket. see the moonlight. feel the wind. smell the river flowing.
night time nature is perfection and you should experience it this summer.
i like to get lost. it forces me to remember that i donβt need a gps to go 5 blocks to that one restaurant. i bike till i feel βlostβ and then bike a little bit more and take a different direction home. i find new parks, new hobby shops, that one weird art installation, graffiti i havenβt seen before, and cool plants everywhere. it reminds me i need to just chill out at take in my surroundings more. disclaimer: i usually do this when i cant sleep and i have a lot of worry in my brain. it helps me leave my phone, distress and connect with my body/space more.
knowing i can hop on my bike and explore the beautiful city i live in free of stress, listening to heart to gold and in search of my next sweet treat. #msp
