Since Revenge of the Sith’s 20th anniversary, I’ve been finding my way back into the vastness of the Star Wars universe. This weekend I thought I’d start collecting again. My three additions to log are the Droideka set, The Black Series Mandalorian, and “The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire” by Dr. Chris Kempshall.
I am lacking money to go big which I probably wouldn’t anyway. Someone gifted our bebe an ewok costume, so we’re thinking of doing a lil fam Star Wars thing. My 3 year old currently wants to be a wizard tho, so who knows. Out of all the Star Wars characters I’d want to be yoda, because it would be fun and funny.
watched an eddy burback video where he played lego star wars (also a fun one!) but something about indiana jones is just so nostalgic.. hearing the lego pieces when you break or build something really brings you back. 2000s wii games are unmatched
I started collecting and building about two or so years ago and just became obsessed. I find the process to feel quite meditative; entering a sort of flow state snipping out the plastic and applying the stickers, it’s a feeling that’s hard to match
I came back from a grocery trip and was greeted outside my car by this little creature this evening. I sat in the street for a few minutes and we hung out. Very chill, only wanted to be pet, never tried to scratch or bite. I will name it Pokey. Extra note, a few minutes later, another black cat appeared! A sibling? A clone? I may never know. At least not today…
Tonight, I achieved 100% completion on Crow Country (PS5). I had done a run last December in which I gathered all but the S rank trophy, requiring less than 10 heals, all crystal crows, and all secrets found. I sat down tonight and-after a few restarts-achieved the S rank in under 2 hours. This marks my 8th platinum. Such a great game. Warm, nostalgic. I hope we get more PS2 styled projects like this!
Today was free comic book day! My local comic store celebrated with all the special releases and also had a BOGO sale on all graphic novels. There was also a local comic newsletter giving out free posters and bags! My favorite pickups for my collection today were Batman: The Long Halloween, the free Godzilla issue, and the Sinners tote bag. Super cool. Long live physical media.
