send out as many emails as possible. cold emails are actually extremely underrated. do some research and identify people or organizations that you admire and email them proclaiming your fondness for their work and that you'd love to contribute to what their doing in hopes of learning from them in the process. even if they aren't looking for help they'll feel flattered and maybe point you in a different direction. you miss 100% of the shots you don't take :)
Do it! I send at least one cold email to someone whose stuff I admire once a day. Oftentimes people don’t reply, but when they do… relationships form and memories are made! So don’t be too shy, most people are just an email away…
I had the opportunity to interview the host of one of my favorite podcasts for class and I never would have gotten to hear all of their wisdom had I not sent that initial message! Even the ones that feel like long shots are worth writing, you never know who'll respond!
