I'm so accustomed to watching a lot classic youtube music vids in their 480p formats, so when the official 4k film rescans of these videos get uploaded, my eyes are always in pure disbelief at what they're seeing. It's like having blurry vision for most of your life and then wearing prescription glasses for the first time. You're like "oh, that's how it was supposed to look all along!"
Some of my favourites are:
Song 2 by Blur
The Scientist by Coldplay
Don't Speak by No Doubt
Ironic by Alanis Morissette
Bitter Sweet Symphony by The Verve
Take On Me by a-ha
I'm still patiently waiting for a restoration of Madonna's Like A Prayer– that video is already painterly in low-resolution, I can't begin to imagine how gorgeous the actual film print of it must look!
