I don't wear much jewelry, but love this affirmation of change.
Change or changing involves liking the new thing better than the old thing. There's a definite value judgement in it: that other thing was fine but this this is better. And even a message to yourself to some degree: "You did good but I'm going to do better." There's some humility required in change—even the admission that change was needed is the acknowledgement that I needed to change. Sounds obvious. But needing to change means there was something wrong with me, which can be hard to face sometimes.
Okay, lots of unnecessary words, and I'm still not sure that I landed the point.
The absolute best way I can put it is this: Mildly devastated but excited for this new chapter in my life.
