I live my life by this creed every day and it has improved my life dramatically. I dont worry about impressing ppl, cus anyone i have to go out of my way to impress isnt someone i can be myself around.
being real means doing what you know you enjoy and what makes you laugh and smile and saying your thoughts out loud and putting in effort to build the life you want for yourself and not getting in your own way. And to attract people who are genuine and caring and trustworthy and honest and similar to yourself, all you have to do is be real.
Others who do all this as well will be able to spot you and know youre real too. You dont have to make someone see the good in you, the right ppl already will.

i struggle with this in my day to day life. i mostly exist feeling the world around me through a translucent shelter. this feeling is another me, in a way. they seek to deflect reality from me to some degree, for my own sake. they always know what they should say and when they should say it. they know when silence is appropriate. but, they can only speak for me. and i for them. we are one, but we’ve grown used to operating as a pair all too well. i allow them to guide me through 80% of my life because operating Me is exhausting. mfw im forced to exist in present day america as someone who is probably autistic, probably a trans girl, and probably won’t be certain of either for years to come dadadadada whatever u get it. all that to say this is me practicing being radically honest. so fuck what y’all think (<3) bc i’m real. which brings me to my final point. regardless of whether u want to be me (or anyone else), you can’t. you’re you. and you’re just as real, so fuck what i think (<3).

10/10 would recommend. just comes so damn naturally. magnetizes the people to you who will actually appreciate you for who you are, instead of who you pretend to be. repels the people who'd force you to fake it. It's bullet proof, imo.

my life greatly improved when i stopped trying to anticipate what other people expected me to say (i’m pretty bad at it) and started being straightforward and honest about how i feel and what i think. don’t hide behind being nonchalant and ironic! show people how much you do care and who you genuinely are! it’s scary, but makes it much easier to discern who you truly vibe with and remember who you truly are :)

local music scenes often suck because everyones trying to sell you something. A band is trying to get tiktok famous, a promoter is trying to make money, clout has poisoned the well that art drinks from.
Just find a spot, ask friends to bring amps and drums, tell everyone to get there at 7 and listen to your buddies play music. literally anyone can do it. it can be alot to manage and be responsible for but its worth it
