My big sister was a HUGE directioner and I wanted To be like her so I’m pretty sure I asked my mom to get me this for my 10th birthday… still some bangers on here let’s not kid ourselves! I remember not having a cd player or a car at 10yrs old so I would kinda just keep it on me and put it in my moms car or at a friends house or something. friends at school teased me a lil bit but actually not that much, open-minded 10yr olds fr. I got a lot of future music taste from her so thanks Deirdre

I'm a 12-year-old living in Ireland, up until this point, my musical taste was mostly confined to what played on the radio and whatever my mum enjoyed. While I did find some of her musical choices appealing – think Backstreet Boys, New Kids on the Block, and Whitney Houston, I didn't really think about music beyond something to sing and perform to.  (Side note Back in those days, I was quite the performer, often putting on dance routines and passionately singing along to tracks by the Backstreet Boys and the whole Aladdin soundtrack.) However, my musical taste underwent a significant shift during the summer of that year when I traveled to London. At that time, my cousins were all about UK Garage, Hip Hop and RnB. It was there that they introduced me to the song "Fill Me In" by Craig David, and something about it just resonated with me. Maybe it was the intrigue and allure of sharing in my cousins' musical tastes, but it left an indelible mark on my musical taste, a fondness that remains unwavering to this day. In fact, that experience prompted me to make my very first album purchase with my own money at HMV (Oxford Street). It was Craig David's “Born to do it”. And I didn't stop there; I also picked up "Pure Garage II" – a topic I'll delve into later because it's undeniably a perfect album.  As I immersed myself in these new sounds, I returned to Ireland with a newfound fascination for London's music culture and a determination to shape my own, unique music preferences. (Listening to the album while I write this, “Walking Away” may be my my favourite song on the album)

It’s what my basket is for, if it breaks then I’ll just die it’s not that serious. I don’t even have that many eggs to begin with. I grew up in a single-egg-basket-household, who are these people with multiple egg baskets, do they walk among us?

I feel like I’ve picked up so much good music by just instantly downloading an opening act’s album right after their set. Just saw Wishy at baby’s all right last night and they had a band called Plastic open up, tight band & tight name, I’m sold. I feel like too many people skip the opener and I get it it can get tiring but I already know I’m gonna like the headliner lemme get a nice little surprise. this has GOT to be my last music rec for a little bit…
