Not experiencing heartbreak right now, but do I know the feeling and this album gives the feel of the ebbs and flows of it. Didn’t like their last album that much but this gives the energy of Morbid (my favorite PUP album). Been running it back since first hearing it for the first time yesterday.

The standout hits are Slugs (my song of the summer) and Yard (truly a song worth sitting and crying to). I wouldn’t say they’re sad rock, but their songs are very reflective of past love / mistakes / recognizing your limits as a person / a long to change who you are; you can relate to the album regardless of where you’re at. They also have a little midwestern hint to their sound, and they sneak a harmonica & some banjo into Broadview, which is a nice little change of pace. I like albums that make you feel things and this one brings a sense of understanding & acceptance whenever I listen to it. Like yes, I can relate to the feelings & the pain & regret in the songs, but they’re almost written (and meant to be listened to) from the other side, once you’ve made it through those life moments and can look back at them understanding how they’ve brought you to this very moment. That’s this album for me.

I don't know like, anything about whoever's behind the moniker "Dog in the Evening" but they've become one of my favorite artists over the course of this year. A lot of the work is kind of reminiscent of early/minimal Burial tracks, super muffled and layered samples, it hits soooo nice. Linking my favorite album of theirs to this rec but also check out their new one out today here

Peach Pit’s sophomore album “You and Your Friends” is such a perfect album. No skips at all, all the songs are so catchy and beautiful. My favorite tracks on it have to be Puppy Grin, Brian’s Movie, and Shampoo Bottles. I feel like a lot of the songs on it are very nostalgic? It’s hard to explain, they’re all about past relationships, platonic and romantic (probably where the album name comes from). It’s very easy to attach songs to experiences you’ve lived. I think the song I’ve most resonated with is Puppy Grin, just the fact it’s about hopelessly devoting yourself to someone that’s not even yours to begin with. Very easy to listen to, hope to get the vinyl soon, can’t wait to see Peach Pit this summer!!

I have no context at all but I love it. Feels like I’m missing out but that’s alright it’s just good to hear somebody having a big ol belly laugh and enjoying this shit while we’re breathing.

I just want to show love to the ELITE Bagel. Whoever was the freak that was like “hear me out let’s put blueberry’s in the dough”, I know they were looking at you crazy but you knew you had a hit on your hands.
