I never see this recd and its incredible — literally had me holed up in my room reading for like 2 days. some of the best sci-fi I’ve read in recent memory, did really well critically, it’s a dark academia situation (which is why I’m surprised it didn’t ever blow up on TikTok), it’s by a Ukrainian husband and wife, AND the third book in the trilogy (english translation) comes out in June so now is THE time to start

So so good, not as depressing as it sounds by the title lol. Explores war but in a sci-fi way ig. Alternatively, Annihilation by Jeff Vandermeer was a pretty quick read. Its the first book of a series and I think exists in a wider universe by Vandermeer. It has an unreliable narrator who observes like freaky fucked up nature
