4 parallel Londons in a world of elemental magic. One of my favorite series and go-tos to recommend. A fascinating world with an amazing cast of characters. V.E. Schwab started a sequel series last year, and that first book is good too!
With your interest in whimsy and YA fiction I would highly recommend Shepherd King Duology by Rachel Gillig. I flew through these books they were so engaging and had a really interesting magic system and a plot that doesnβt follow the standard βchosen oneβ you see in a lot of fantasy.
by Philip Pullman. The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife, and The Amber Spyglass. Very rich and engaging fantasy stuff! Cool metaphysics, strange fauna and flora, and some wild adventures!
as well as the prequel Day of Fallen Night by Samantha Shannon. One of the best fantasy series I've ever read. Such a well thought out world with a deep history and different nations with unique cultures that help drive the story in an interesting way. Plus women are the powerful main characters!! I just love it so so much!!
I waited years to go to the Huntington's Rose Garden Tea Room bc I was looking for someone to go with. I finally decided to just go with myself after work and took my time exploring the gardens after.
Don't wait years like me. If you want to do something, go and do it!
