SISH Beauty In-Shower Facial Treatment A new recommendation, but I'm loving how lightly exfoliating, deeply cleansing, and not stripping it is. It's a solid product, and it's not an everyday thing, but I can't scrub everyday anyways. It's vegan, gluten free, cruelty free, pregnancy safe and does not contain any harmful chemicals, parabens, or aluminum compounds. Eau Thermale Avène Tolerance Extremely Gentle Cleanser If I'm wearing more face makeup or a heavier eye look and I need to get it all off without ripping a layer of skin off in the process, this is the stuff. Best removed with a warm washcloth and some steam, in my opinion. Bioderma Sensibio H2O Yeah yeah, sometimes fancy water is worth it, and I think this is one of those times. It's fragrance-free, alcohol-free, and paraben-free, and doesn't make my skin more red. Best for light makeup or no makeup days when I don't want to wash with soap. Skinfix Barrier+ Foaming Oil Hydrating Cleanser In the shower, feeling like I need a good bubbly wash, I go for this Skinfix soaper. It's milky, foams, and doesn't leave the skin feeling stripped post-cleanse.

For a simple routine you only need a face wash and a moisturiser— if your skin is more oily than dry, try Glossier’s cleanser concentrate, and if drier, try Glossier’s milky jelly cleanser or Cera Ve’s hydrating facial cleanser. If you have acne prone skin, a face wash with salicylic acid will help. Then use a good moisturiser; Cera Ve’s Daily Moisturising lotion is my workhorse, and I use Beekman 1802 Bloom Cream at night or when dry. Use a good sunscreen; I use Supergoop Every Single Face watery lotion, but anything that you like the texture of and will use consistently is best. Do those three things for a month or two, and it will feel much easier to fold other things into your routine where you notice you need them— that may be a serum, a chemical exfoliant, or an active. If you get breakouts and want an effective spot treatment, La Roche Posay’s effaclar duo is the best thing I’ve used— it’s more effective than patches or stickers, and minimally drying. Do you have particular skin concerns (dryness, dark spots, breakouts, redness, etc.)?

I've been learning about things like how to make a cake with antioxidant properties, how to embrace changes in your life with courage, how to groom your dog at home, and of course, what's going on around the city.
