it was mainly hip hop and rnb and shit around there. It was cool i rly liked it, i also listened to a ton of hyperpop back then(the new gen shit, like glaive, aldn, all them). It was awesome. I would walk thru the hallways with music full volume I hated when i saw one of my friends cuz i had to take out a headphone and the music would stop

I started high school during the end of my kpop era transitioning into my hipster indie Tumblr era which stuck around until the end. But I was committed to the emo trinity (fall out boy, my chemical romance, panic! at the disco) too. And dabbling in post hardcore. I was a music kid so naturally I loved musical theatre. This was peak Hamilton era. I also loved going to the opera and ended up listening to a lot of operas too. By the end of high school CTRL by SZA just came out and everyone was in their r&b, hiphop and rap era. Just in time for me to get into Brockhampton for first year uni. I wish I had a picture of my music stand from this era. I doodled all over it with band logos and lyrics.

really wierd blend of stuff.... so i was super into kpop (specifically 2ne1, bigbang, BAP,& ftisland..but also kept up with mainstream mv drops and also eventually expanded into like ballads& then way later underground khiphop/rnb), i also rly like a handful of bollywood movie soundtracks(big into bollywood rom coms then so i had like specific songs from different soundtracks i was super into), also i always liked rap and stuff but my brother reallyy was a hiphop head at the time so i listened to some albums and songs thst he sent me so like kendrick, tupac, black star, biggie, asap rocky, nas, etc and thennn i found the 96.3 radio that just plays like oldschool rnb so then i reallly got into 90s, then 70s/80s rnb then got into soul and disco. whilst also being rly into like kdrama soundracks. i also didn't rly form an identity in hs .... more so in college. so i wasnt part of any subculture or dressing in any particular style to represent my music taste

Especially within music. Like yea u can make cool art without theory but no one ever made a great piece of art without dedicating themselves to understanding it in some way
