I left my job at an Agency back in March to give freelance another swing. My mantra is everyone’s on their own path and pace so I shouldn’t compare my journey to others. I think my big goal this time around is staying above the taxes early and being smarter with finances. Just because something can be a write off doesn’t mean you should break the bank for it.
I think that everyone should experience freelance at least once in their life. It‘s rough but it makes you tough. Share your work everywhere your target audience may be. Don’t hesitate to reach out to those who you want to work with. Be supercareful about money. Define your boundaries.
@NEW-MACE I don’t know what you’re starting with, but I recommend an Employer Identification Number (aka taxpayer ID) (if you’re in America), getting a separate business checking acct (a credit union might be the best option) and a business credit card. Also use some kind of bookkeeping software to track everything. Don’t use Venmo to try to avoid paying taxes. DM me if you’d like details. Finally, your cakes are unhinged! 💛
Trying to remember that there doesn't have to be a clear narrative or dramatic production to make a good music video. It just needs what, like,, engaging camera/subject movement + somewhat cohesive color/texture? trying to try every day. Any advice? I love music and videos
