clara gives the floating world by axie oh four stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
the floating world is a YA fantasy novel based on korean folklore. this book reminded clara of spirited away - the cutest scenes and beautiful descriptions would be juxtaposed on the next page by gruesome explanations of demons and medical experiments!!! clara loved it.
clara is excited for the character development-to-come in the second book of this duology.

It’s about a girl named Ava Lavender who was born with wings. It genuinely feels like magic is weaved between the words in this book, it’s so whimsical and nothing like anything else I’ve read.
Check out the tws before reading though
clara gives firebird by juliette cross three point seven five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
this was clara’s first monster romance… it was fun! clara would have rated this higher if it was a standalone. does every fantasy book need to be part of a 3+ series!!!
firebird is a reimagining of ancient rome if the men in charge could also shift into dragons. it includes a master/slave romance so def read the trigger warnings before you pick this up!
there’s a lot of misinformation about this book on booktok. two major points i would like to refute - no the female main character is not underage. no she is not romani (she is from what is now romania!)
I'm recommending this one specifically because it helped me really get back into reading after years of neglecting my literacy.
Super fun vampire novel about growing up, womanhood, family, art, and being true to yourself despite the consequences.
