getting published for the first time

woke up this morning to my article live on the front page of a local magazine i've read for so many years... feels like a full-circle moment i already have plenty of articles out on college publications, but this hits so much different. i'm sure all journalists know the ecstatic feeling of having your article published for the first time, as i'm experiencing that joy right now. just overall very chipper this morning :)

a dear instructor and former editor at a magazine people actually read told me I had “a future in publishing”. next thing you know I’m getting a lit mag off the ground (more deets soon), but it‘s somewhat nice to embrace the fear of recognition

Supersoft genuine leather jacket from the 90s

It's some sub-brand of Marks&Spencer that existed in the 1990s. I thrifted it under $8 because the thrift store had a sale huh. I'm proud of all my thrift finds but I don't have pics of all of them.

the royal tenenbaums and mulan

There are a lot of movies that have impacted me in this or that way. I used to spend days in a movie theatre with my elder sister. I'm naming 2, though. The Tenenbaums helped me to accept that my family was imperfect. The original Mulan helped me to be much less hesitant about not following the stereotypes of what a woman should be.
