The secret is truly going on walks out in nature. don’t bring your headphones, all you will need is yourself. I started to get really bad anxiety attacks, and found out that nature seems to ground me and allows me to think rationally. Not only that, but nature has this way of helping me to process my day or process my issues head on instead of ignoring them and acting like they don’t exist. I no longer fret about my job, bills or relationships, even though I am still struggling in all three. Right now, you could be putting all of your time and energy into other things that are not you. Be selfish, nurture yourself, drink water, take a walk on a hiking trail or a bike greenway for however long. On harder days, I like to go deep into the trail and sit in silence, listening to the birds chatter and the squirrels chase each other. Once you give nature time, nature gives time back. You will get through this. ❤️

Try to pick up the habit of taking walks around local parks, forests (where you feel like it’s safe) or if it is a possibility go on hikings. And this advice is particularly special for you, as a fellow artist I have this theory that we have this ability of finding beauty in everything, even in the things we might not even like. And most definitely I’m sure you’ll find yourself amazed by the things you’ll find by looking at your surroundings with calm and attention. There is no better way to feel alive than by feeling amazed, feeling wonder. It makes me, the world and my problems feel insignificant against the beauty of it.

When I’m really stressed and I need to clear my head of unwanted thoughts, I like to do a guided meditation for like 20 minutes (u can find lots on YouTube) or sit in nature for a bit. It doesn’t make it go away but it makes me feel more at peace.

Connecting with the earth is my favorite way to process my emotions and practice gratitude. Even when the trees are bare, there is so much beauty left to witness.

Bring up a fun fact, it breaks the ice and gets a conversation rolling. If that doesn’t work, being honest also works. Addressing the awkwardness head on really helps remove the tension.
