painting, writing, photography - literally whatever you want. you can be the consumer and the creator. also learning how to crochet was pretty fun for me and i also love puzzles like sudoku and crosswords.
Not client work. Not serious work. Not important work. Just fun and for me.
We all need to just make things for ourselves where the only inspo is the things you like.
Just anything. I think being in the act of making things is a really good place for our minds. We're no different from birds or spiders, we've evolved to make things. I believe it's a very deep rooted part of our consciousness that's usually trivialized as "hobbies" or hijacked and converted into labor. I feel down multiple times a day and finding a little something to make and get lost in relieves at least some of the weight of the bad feelings
Especially within music. Like yea u can make cool art without theory but no one ever made a great piece of art without dedicating themselves to understanding it in some way
