Need that in any and all forms. Rice, bread, noodles. Love them equally.

I have always been more carb-leaning when it comes to the balance of a dish’s carbs to meat/veg ratio, let’s say, approximately 2:1? When it comes to a good rice-based dish, the rice is everything, I mean of course it is, how could it not be? If the ratio is 1:1 I find that I long for more rice in each bite!!! I simply need more of it, especially if it's done really well (each granule is separate from each other, each granule perfectly crisp and toasted all around – if in a fried dish type situation…) All to say, appreciate the rice as much as you appreciate the accompanying meat or veg that’s supposedly the “star” of the show… it is merely nothing without the mighty grain to anchor it…!

I was not raised on this joint. I was put on by Amanda Seyfried and I’m all the more grateful for it.

Okayy. First post, first book review, and first book I finished this year (I’m very slow). Found myself hooked by the shifting perspectives between the two main characters, Sadie and Sam, who are soul bonded for better or for worse - two characters that are deeply intertwined in each other’s lives. The plot reminds me a lot of When Harry Met Sally in the way that it spans decades and we as readers get glimpses during the pivotal moments of Sadie and Sam’s relationship. The book touches on platonic love and how it sometimes can be greater than romance. There is also a strong emphasis on work and passion for a craft. In this case the craft was developing video games, which was probably what made this such an easy, digestible read for a nerd like me. I’m giving this an 8.7/10.
