one of my top 3 fav albums of all time methinks, this album just makes you feel love, it makes you want to take a walk and enjoy the sun with a skip in your step, it makes you feel hopeful “old soul, waiting my turn, I know a few things but I still got a lot to learn” these magical blends of country and pop reach heights that taylor could never tbh
Modern country that’s actually amazing. It’s the perfect mix of pop country. I recommend listening to the album Golden Hour (an album that even people who don’t like country music like.)
I'm admittedly not much of a "modern country" fan (it kind of reminds me of the worst of 80s rock with a southern accent applied), but Kacey is special -- a marvelous voice, terrific songwriter, someone who steers into the other lane to avoid cliche.
I used to spin every Weds night from 10 pm to midnight on KXSF.FM as part of an alt-country collective (five DJs total) called "The Barndance" -- we each had noms de country (mine was "Dustin T. Wind") and it was by far the most fun I've ever had selecting music and playing it on the radio. This is just one setlist from that era, lots of good choices (including another Kacey song, natch) and can still recommend the show: https://music.apple.com/us/playlist/kxsf-barndance-april-28-2021/pl.u-kv9lbKdCW3PYM7
married by 25, house by 28, kids by 30, business by 32. who cares. youre not a child anymore. you don’t have to hit milestones. that’s the whole thing about being an adult, you don’t have to give yourself age deadlines. let serendipity do its thing. what is for you will find you. your journey is YOUR JOURNEY. how boring would life be if we were all setting the same goals and standards for each other? just keep moving forward. keep doing what YOU believe is best for YOU. keep growing, keep learning. time is going to pass regardless. but don’t ever let someone or society push their timeline onto you.
