10/10 perfection, get your copy from your local bookstore and enjoy a slice of heaven. "It was a quiet morning, the town covered over with darkness and at ease in bed. Summer gathered in the weather, the wind had the proper touch, the breathing world was long and warm and slow. You only had to rise, lean from your window, and know that this indeed was the first real time of freedom and living, this was the first morning of summer."

1. House on the cerulean sea ๐ŸŒŠ This book is a great one to read going into spring. Itโ€™s so heart warming!! it makes me feel so happy and ready to appreciate life. 2. The opposite of loneliness โ˜€๏ธ this book is a collection of fiction and non fiction essays from a girl who died right after graduating. I really like her work, the fiction feels creative and fun and the non fiction feels personal no matter what age I read it. 3. Bad Summer People ๐Ÿ“ horny rich people play tennis over the summer and make bad choices! Quick read, gets me in the mood to keep reading more and more.

Nothing to See Here by Kevin Wilson is summery and heartfelt and so funny, about nannying your ex-best friend's twin stepkids who spontaneously combust. The Pleasing Hour by Lily King is a solid summer book to me, too, about an au pair in France, but maybe on the sadder side of the spectrum at times. I'd also throw in Commonwealth by Ann Patchett which has a few traumatic moments but is overall a superb read about the children in two families who spend summers together in Virginia, and how their lives change in adulthood, and it goes back and forth between the two timelines

I'm not talking about your local NPR affiliate, I mean the low frequency weirdo station playing ethiopian jazz, arabic synthpop, bootleg covers of motown classics sung in Spanish, and skateboarding music (whatever that is). My local station is KUAA 99.9FM, you can listen online! I also love CHIRP (Chicago), KMHD (Portland jazz station), and KXLU (Los Angeles). Sounds good, feels good, no annoying commercials, and- best of all- it's not spotify.
