my favorite kate song. a beautifully arranged song with kate’s usual whimsical wordplay and imagery and some of my favorite kate vocals. if i were to be a singer, this is the song i’d cover on my debut album. the last 25 seconds of this song— the orchestral arrangementā€˜s crescendo and decrescendo— are probably what plays in heaven

When she says ā€œI found a fox caught by dogs He let me take him in my hands His little heart, it beats so fast And I'm ashamed of running awayā€ It just gets me every time 😭 it’s so beautifu. I used to listen to this song literally every night from my dads iPod when I was little because it made me feel like I was flying in a way.

@KITTYCRAFT her total lack of self consciousness and fully being herself is definitely a big part of the charm!

gorgeous. one of the things i love about kate is how innovative she is with her sound, creating otherworldly atmospheres — a true storyteller, immersing you fully. i always play this one to feel more grounded. the lyrics highly resonate, too

all of mansour’s works are gorgeous and so beautifully representative of the palestinian condition (pre and post-intifada) but there’s something about 1985’s ā€hopeā€ that’s always stuck with me, much like 1993’s ā€œthe nazareneā€ (also attached). i cannot recommend looking further into mansour’s works enough. follow him on instagram @/sliman.mansour šŸ•Šļø
