On rare occasions being assaulted by sales associates with fragrance samples in department stores pays off. Balance between masculinity and femininity is key in fragrance selection for me, and I’ve been an amber aficionado for some time now, so this one’s my go-to these days.Ā Ā

I’m really into fragrances. I have 30 bottles on my dresser as we speak. This is one of my main go-to’s lately, a blend of citrus and almond and leather. I blind buy all my fragrances from Fragrancenet for the most part, usually basing my decisions off of reviews from Fragrantica which is like the perfume nerd mecha. I know ordering something without smelling it in person is a risk, but scared money never wins. I’ll usually buy anything that mentions the adjectives ā€œmasculineā€ or ā€œelegantā€ in the reviews, and this is just that. I don’t really jive with the ā€œsignature scentā€ mindset, especially when outfits and seasons come into play. You mean to tell me you use one perfume bottle all year round? That’s fine, but I hate you. Variety isn’t just a river in Egypt, ya know.

Obsessed with perfume. For a while I was searching for a signature scent, but then the hunt just became too much fun, and now I’ve ended up with a full on vanity tray in my bathroom piled with a different smell for every mood. I used to wear only China Rain, a rollerball scent my mom got me in high school from a perfumery in LA called Spiritbody. I still have a bottle of that, but when I wear it I’m transported to a more insecure time lol. Right now I love Shadow in the Water from Diptyque for when I want to smell clean and romantic. I wear Smudge by Heretic almost every day because it’s colder out and it makes me feel so warm and cozy, like i’ve been sitting by a fire all day, and like I give good advice and paint landscapes. Perfume is definitely a splurge, but it lasts for so long, and I think it’s really special to have a beautiful scent that people can recognize you by. I am going to gatekeep my secret combination of Byredo perfumes that I wear constantly, and I’m sorry about that. It’s just too good and too me.

I work at Nordstrom so it’s hard to choose considering Iā€˜m trying different stuff all the time but here are a few bottles I always go back to, especially great for spring/summer: Jo Malone - Orange Blossom $72 1oz Honey… this is soooo… this is so beautiful it makes me feel both so mature and darling. Punching, nearly pure clementine flower, softened by honeysuckle and white lilac, slightly woody and powdery. Elegant. Couldn’t name a more perfect spring scent. Simple so effective. ^ Mixes beautifully with Matcha Meditation from Maison Margiela’s Replica line Gier Ness - Laila $68 1.7oz ā€œThe essence of Norwayā€ It sure is. Apparently there is a weird Disney affiliation but please don’t let that deter you this is one of the prettiest scents I’ve ever sniffed it smells like crisp, clean spring air. Not in an overly floral way either. Very natural. Effortless. Charming. impressive lasting power. I get SO many compliments on this one. Chanel - Paris - Ɖdimbourg $113 1.7oz No no no trust me. This is nothing like the others. Inspired by the Scottish Highlands, it’s woody, earthy, mossy, fresh with spice. It’s like everything that is currently on trend in fragrance but through a super classy, traditional sort of …old money… lens. Trust. ^Mixes beautifully with You by Glossier Might be worth adding that as curious and adventurous as I am with trying new scents, I also very easily develop migraines and tummy aches from many of them. These are all tried and true safe options for sensitive girls like me.

I’ve honestly been ordering it by the caseload since I found it in some random apotheke in the Montmarte district of Paris. I think every bad bitch is in pursuit of that perfect lipgloss that’s not too sticky and has good flavor + fragrance. This one’s been my crĆØme du jour.

In true Gemini fashion, I live a bit of a double life when it comes to career and personal interests.Ā  One side of my coin is that I’m a nightlife girlie that enjoys the occasional hellish scream at a rave, and the other requires vocal protection. I happened upon these lozenges in Berlin a few years ago and have been using them regularly since. They coat your vocal cords and protect them from the damage that can come from being rubbed together aggressively too often. Boring for the ones that don’t mind a vocal crash out, but if your voice is your bread and butter, get into them!

I’ve been making it a habit to have a few tablespoons of freshly sourced seamoss gel a day, lately. It’s a bit of a cure-all, really. It improves skin health, reduces inflammation, boosts the immune system—I feel like it’s the modern-day vapo vix rub.
