check out the linked article but a rly interesting story and there was a documentary abt it too. the painting was discovered after someone bought their house shortly after they died. they also seemed to be living well above their salaries while they were alive… but nobody really knows how.

In 1974, conceptual artist Hans Haacke created "Manet-PROJEKT '74," which traced the ownership history of Édouard Manet's "Bunch of Asparagus". This project revealed how the painting passed from a Jewish art collector to Hermann Josef Abs, a financial advisor to Hitler. Haacke's work aimed to highlight the political and social implications of art ownership. The project was rejected by the Wallraf-Richartz Museum in Cologne due to its connection to Abs.

its crazy to me we are now at a point where major companies are actively putting measures into their products to make them hard or impossible to fix on your own. if you take it anywhere else to get it fixed your warranty is now voided. i just paid like $1000 for this phone. do i even really own it if nobody but the company i bought it from can fix it?
better yet you bring it to them and they will essentially do nothing but quote you for overpriced parts you don’t need or more likely just tell you to buy a new phone. thanks apple!!!
